I sent an email to Andrew Sullivan whom I've never met personally, to commend him on his clear take re: the VP debate. His site is www.andrewsullivan.com. He's a super (as in important) blogger. I wrote that Cheney was a Humpty Dumpty who fell off his stone wall of Iraq - I know my pun is too precious and I should be ashamed, but, hey…
Once you start with the egg metaphor, oh my, the images and cliches can get scrambled in your brain, but no matter where the mind wanders it's hard to deny that Cheney rolled off that wall all by himself with his fried facts about the war and nothing can put the pieces of his credibility back together again at this late date. Time for the little whiskered chap from Rocky and Bullwinkle to start sweeping into his dustpan the Bush-Cheney crumbs our country been trying to survive on these last 3.5 years.
I have wondered, scratched my head, over the American public - how could they not see what has been so plain to so many of us since before 2000? I am adept at reading people, but I'm not always right, so I do savor these moments when FINALLY Toto pulls back the curtain on both these guys. In all due respect to Cheney, he only gets the runner-up trophy for being rotten - Bush set a record for bad debating that will remain in tact well into the first war of the 22nd century, which will get here eventually, provided no more Bush blood relatives become president to finish us off before then.
Blogging - it does a body good and is keeping many writers almost sane.
